Were Here was organized in 2013 as a nonprofit by Tatiana Barnes to provide outreach and resources to community members in need. Since then she and her dedicated team of volunteers have helped over 1,000 individuals and their families with direct resources including food distribution, hygiene product give a ways, Christmas Toy Drives, sponsored trips like spa and winery excursions, and other stress relieving activities for struggling community members.
In 2020 Ms. Barnes and her team made the decision to remove their service listing from 211 as a service provider for individuals to further their impact by expanding territories, broadening their mission to include health and wellness, and supporting other nonprofits and charitable projects in need of capacity building tools and resources. Were Here's objectives to reach more constituents through the power of collaborative and collective efforts is critically necessary now more than ever considering the increasing disparities of homelessness, mental insufficiencies, and the medically incapable whose diverse needs are not being met due to the priorities of the pandemic and limited funding opportunities for these issues yearwide.
Were Here's unique projects involve awareness, environmentally friendly standards, enrichment, and empowerment opportunities.
